Coffee Smoothie Recipe - Hero image

If you love coffee AND smoothies, it can sometimes be hard deciding which you want to drink in the morning. The solution? Combining the two.

This super simple recipe is ready in just a few minutes, so you can run out the door and start your day! It’s perfect if you struggle to balance your health with your busy lifestyle

Before we share this amazing recipe, there is a little preparation you need to do the night before. Make some espresso and fill an ice cube tray using the liquid coffee. Then pop it in the freezer overnight to make your coffee ice cubes.

Caramel Coffee Smoothie

Serves: 1

Ingredients:

  • 1 cup milk of your choice

  • 2 dates

  • 1 cup of coffee ice cubes

  • Sprinkle of cinnamon.

Method:

  1.  Combine all ingredients in a blender and blend until smooth.

  2.  Serve in a tall glass or in a Mason jar with a straw and top with a sprinkle of cinnamon.

Two reasons why you should use coffee ice cubes instead of cold coffee:

  • Blending the ice cubes will leave you with a great consistency, which is more like a healthy smoothie than an iced coffee.

  • When the ice cubes start to melt, you’ll have a nice rich coffee flavour, rather than it being watered down.

You can use any variety of milk, although unsweetened almond milk is really nice in this recipe, because the flavour blends so well with the dates. If you are feeling particularly creative, you might even like to make almond milk at home!
