Blueberry Pie Smoothie Recipe - Hero image

Ready for your new favourite smoothie?

This Blueberry Pie Smoothie Recipe tastes great and is good for you — it’s a healthy way to start the day if you’re a fan of breakfast smoothies.

It also makes a great pre-workout meal, with a mix of macronutrients; the oats are a good source of carbohydrate, and there’s protein from the yoghurt and protein powder. The nutritional benefits don’t stop there — the blueberries and oats are sources of fibre, and berries are high in Vitamin C.

The best part? It can be made in under five minutes — the perfect quick fix for days when you’re on-the-go.

Easy Blueberry Smoothie Recipe

Preparation time: 5 minutes

Servings: 1

Ingredients:

  • 60g (2 oz) rolled oats

  • 160g (5.5 oz) blueberries (fresh or frozen)

  • 1 scoop protein powder (optional)

  • 100ml (3.5 oz) water

  • 130ml (4.5 fl oz) low-fat milk

  • 100g (3.5 oz) low-fat plain yoghurt

Method:

  1. Place the oats into a high-powered blender and pulse until they’re finely ground.

  2. Add the rest of the ingredients and blend until they’re smooth. If you’re using fresh blueberries, or not using protein powder, you can add a couple of ice cubes to create a thicker texture.

  3. To serve, pour into a glass or jar. Enjoy!

This delicious smoothie is so easy to make

Eating healthy food at home doesn’t have to be time-consuming or complicated — this recipe is fast but it also uses ingredients you might already have in your pantry and fridge, so you can regularly have it as part of a healthy, balanced diet. It’s filling too, so it will keep you satisfied until your next meal.

If you want to make a vegan version of this recipe, you can replace the milk with a plant-based version and switch out the yoghurt for a frozen banana.
