What Is The Sweat Challenge

If you're ready to kickstart your health and fitness journey, or you're simply looking to step up your fitness, taking part in the Sweat Challenge is a great way to start the year strong and hit your health and fitness goals

This January, Sweat is launching 14 six-week fitness programs exclusive to the Sweat App with a variety of challenge programs to choose from. Whether you're just starting out or looking to push yourself, prefer working out at home or in the gym, there's a Sweat Challenge to suit everyone.

Join the incredible Sweat Community and work out with Sweat's world-class trainers with fitness programs designed by women, for women to help you stay consistent, motivated and make a positive change this new year. Registration is now open, and the Sweat Challenge starts on Monday, January 10, 2022, and runs until Sunday, February 20, 2022.

Who is the Sweat Challenge for?

The Sweat Challenge is for women everywhere, of all fitness levels.

You can choose from 14 different programs across a range of training styles including HIIT, strength, high intensity, Pilates and barre.

There are options available if you want to train at home or in the gym, with no equipment, using just your bodyweight, or if you prefer to follow workouts that use home gym equipment.

To complete the Pilates program, you’ll just need a fitness mat and a small space. For barre, you’ll need a chair and optional small hand weights.

Basic home gym equipment includes dumbbells, a resistance band, a skipping rope, and an optional kettlebell for the other programs.

Worried you won't have time to fit it all in? Don't worry, there are 12 Sweat Challenge programs that include weekly express workouts you can do in less than 15 minutes. No matter what you have available, there’s a Sweat Challenge program for you and your chosen Sweat trainer will be by your side every step of the way.

Sweat Challenge 2020 At Home

How do you choose a Sweat Challenge program?

The 6-week Sweat Challenge is an opportunity to start training at home, in the gym or take your fitness to another level while working out alongside the most supportive female fitness community in the world.

You can choose from 14 at-home workout programs:

Each at-home and gym-based program has two levels of difficulty you can choose from — either “Starting Out” or “Challenge Me”.

We want everyone to be able to hit their goals with the Sweat Challenge, and "Starting Out" is perfect if you're at the beginning of your fitness journey or returning to training. If you're looking to push yourself even further in 2022, we would recommend the "Challenge Me" option.

Not sure which Sweat Challenge is right for you? Compare the Sweat Programs to help make your decision.

If you want to change your program after starting the Sweat Challenge, simply tap the Sweat Challenge banner in the app, then navigate to the three dots in the top right corner. Select “Change Program”, then reselect the program and difficulty of your choice.

How does the Sweat Challenge work?

On the first day of the Sweat Challenge, you’ll see your exclusive weekly workouts for that week that include:

  • 2-8 weekly workout options
  • 2-3 low-intensity cardio sessions
  • 1-2 express workouts
  • 1 bonus workout
  • Recovery sessions and scheduled rest days

There are no express workouts in the PWR challenge or HIIT with Monica programs and no bonus workouts in Low Impact with Kayla, HIIT with Monica, Barre with Britney or Pilates with Sara.

If you have an Apple Watch, you’ll be able to access the High Intensity with Kayla, PWR at Home, FIERCE at Home, LIFTING at Home, High Intensity Strength, BUILD and Low Impact with Kayla challenge workouts right from your wrist.

The Sweat Challenge is designed to help you move your body, stay motivated and active with at least one workout each week over the six weeks.

How you choose to Sweat is up to you with workouts you can do anywhere, anytime. At the start of each week, schedule your workouts using the Planner and sync it with your calendar to be reminded when it’s time to work out.

Make sure you’ve turned on push notifications to get scheduled reminders and motivation throughout the challenge.

Each week, you’ll complete your set classes or workouts, cardio and recovery sessions but if you miss a workout here and there, don’t let that discourage you — you’ll still progress through the Sweat Challenge with everyone else.

Last year, more women than ever came together to take part! Remember to use the hashtag #SweatChallenge on Instagram to see what the Sweat Community is up to and share your own sweaty selfies and personal highlights along the way.

What if you miss the start of the Sweat Challenge?

The Sweat Challenge will only be available from Monday, January 10 until Sunday, February 20, 2022 — so make sure you join before the Sweat Challenge begins to get the most out of it!

However, if you’ve missed the start of the Sweat Challenge, you have up until Sunday, January 30, 2022 to sign up.

If you leave the Sweat Challenge, you won’t be able to rejoin once the entry period closes. This means in order to participate for the full six weeks and access the limited time workouts, you’ll need to stay registered.

What happens at the end of the Sweat Challenge?

After the Sweat Challenge, you can choose to continue your previous Sweat program where you left off, progress to a different week or start a new program.

Feel supported with the Sweat Challenge!

Now you know what to expect, it’s time to register! Take this opportunity to look after your health, at home or in the gym, with the support of Sweat’s world-class trainers as you work towards your fitness goals with women around the world as part of the Sweat Community.

Join us for six weeks of exclusive workouts to start the year strong and maintain healthy habits with the Sweat Challenge.
