We know that one of the best ways to make a healthy lifestyle part of your life is to be educated about your health, to be organised in your approach and to set sustainable and healthy goals that you can work toward. That’s why we want to provide you with everything you need to know BEFORE the 12 Week Challenge begins, to help you get ready to improve your fitness and positively transform your health and mindset for good.
What is the 12 Week Challenge
The SWEAT 12 Week Challenge is all about starting your year the right way by focusing on the most important part of your life — your health. Over the course of 12 weeks, expect to progress your fitness through our structured and easy-to-follow training programs.
The SWEAT app contains seven programs from five different trainers so it’s up to you to choose what kind of fitness journey you want to embark on. SWEAT offers workouts that can be done at home or in the gym, in the styles of bodyweight and weighted resistance training, weights-based training, yoga and a post-pregnancy program. Every program offered in the app contains structured workouts that help you to develop and progress at a safe and manageable pace.
The goal of the 12 Week Challenge is to not only help you complete the challenge and experience real progress but to provide you with the right tools and education to set you up for a lifetime of health.
You can join the 12 Week Challenge no matter where you’re at on your fitness journey. Whether you’re just starting out or up to Week 20 of a program, the 12 Week Challenge is all about joining in on the fun and having the support of the Sweat community in the forum to help you shape your best life.
Why should you take part in it? Studies have proven that when we have a strong support network that we can be held accountable to, we are more likely to make changes stick and commit to our fitness goals.
What to expect from the 12 Week Challenge
Whether you’ve taken part in a SWEAT 12 Week Challenge before or not, this is our biggest one yet!

1. New trainers + new programs
Chontel Duncan’s program, FIERCE, is a gym-based program that includes a variety of training styles. From high-intensity training circuits to strength training, this program mixes it up! Influenced by her own personal training style, FIERCE is about changing up your workouts, constantly keeping your body guessing and becoming fearless in and out of the gym.
Stephanie Sanzo’s program, BUILD, is a gym-based powerbuilding program that focuses on lifting heavier weights. BUILD is designed to help you focus on your performance so that you can develop your muscle mass and grow in strength.
2. New features
If you’re a regular user of our programs, the 12 Week Challenge is the perfect opportunity to continue on your journey and push yourself even further.
If you’re an existing user of Kayla Itsines’ BBG Stronger or Kesley Wells’ PWR program, you’ll be happy to know that you can continue to smash your goals, with new extensions of both programs — BBG Stronger 4.0 and PWR 3.0 are now available in the app.
3. New ways to share and connect
Accountability is key when working towards your goals and that’s why the SWEAT community is the world’s best community for women’s fitness.
You will be able to connect with like-minded women on a similar journey through our forum. This is an encouraging space where you can celebrate milestones with others, be encouraged, and share the ups and downs of every stage of the 12 Week Challenge journey.
Also, for the first time ever, we’re amping up the fun during the 12 Week Challenge — if you’re following either Sweat or one of our trainers on Instagram, you can unlock a special 12 Week Challenge filter when you take a sweaty selfie. Reshare it with other SWEAT community members and celebrate your hard work!
