5 Places To Eat Healthy & Save Money
5 Sites That Will Help You Save Money While Eating Healthy

Eating healthy can be expensive but there are ways you can shop for organic, clean produce while saving money. For instance, you don't have to buy organic all the time. One tip is to purchase organic only for produce that appear on the Dirty Dozen list. This lists shows the top 12 fruits and vegetables that have the highest amount of pesticide residue even after washing them! Buying frozen fruits and vegetables is also a great way to have your seasonal favorites on hand at all times. Alternatively, you can purchase fruits and vegetables at your local farmer's market, chop them up and store them in the freezer to use throughout the winter months. They'll come in super handy when you're making smoothies and soups.

That said, below are my 5 go-to sites and shops that I rely on to buy healthy, organic products.

1. Jet

@jet

What is it? An e-commerce site that sells a wide range of products such as household supplies, groceries, electronics, beauty products and furniture. They were acquired by Walmart for a cool $3 billion in 2016. The only drawback is that Jet doesn't carry a wide variety of healthy brands but they do have their own in-house label called Uniquely J that offers products such as Peruvian Ground CoffeeAvocado Oil, Korean Bulgogi SauceAlmond Chocolate Biscotti Thins.

2. Whole Foods

What is it? No explanation needed here. Now that Amazon has acquired Whole Foods, some of my favorite fruits and vegetables have become even cheaper like avocados. Another easy way to save money is to buy Whole Food's 365 label. They're just as good!

5 products I love:

3. Thrive Market

What is it? A membership e-commerce site that sells natural and organic products at reduced prices (about 25-50% lower than other online and offline stores). Think a smaller, hipper Costco. The annual membership is $59.95 which comes out to less than $5 a month. I use Thrive a lot and have saved more than $325 since this April! I like that you can see how much cheaper each product is compared to normal retail prices so you know exactly how much you're saving.

5 chocolates I always buy:

4. Brandless

What is it? An online grocery store that sells household and food products for just $3 each.

5 products to try:

5. Costco

What is it? Wholesale prices for a wide range of products. If you have limited storage space in your apartment, try splitting your groceries with a few friends so that all of you can benefit from lower prices without worrying about where to store your groceries.

5 products I love:

  • Kirkland Signature Atlantic Salmon Fillets (3lbs)
  • Kirkland Signature Shrimp (2lbs)
  • Lemons
  • Spices
  • Extra Virgin Olive Oil
