Easy Ways to Make Time For Your Workout

It’s the most common reason for not working out: I don’t have time. Sometimes though, maybe that’s not 100% true. While we’re busier than ever before, there are often other reasons holding us back. Maybe it’s lack of motivation or boredom stopping us from finding time. Usually, if we put our minds to it, we CAN find time to workout.
Here are a couple of ways you can make time for exercise, even when you feel like you don’t have time.
Workout at the start of your day
Lots of people find it easier to workout as soon as they get up. By getting your workout in early in the day, there is less chance it will be put off. When those unexpected demands or tasks pop-up, exercise can get pushed back further and further, until your day is over and you’ve missed out. Getting into your workout first thing ensures you get it done and nothing gets in the way.
Combine your chores with activity
Find a way to add stretches or exercises to your chores. Need to vacuum the floor? Add some lunges while you do it. Have a couple of errands to run? Park the car further away and walk more, or try riding your bike instead of taking the car.
Get active when you get social
When you need to make a few calls to friends or family, find a way to make it active. Grab your phone and a hands-free device, dial the number and get walking. You’ll be amazed how far you can walk while you’re chatting. Just be mindful of your surroundings as you walk as it’s easy to get distracted.

Squeeze in something instead of doing nothing
You don’t need to find a couple of hours in your day to exercise. Instead, you can choose to put your energy into high-intensity interval training, which is tough but an effective way to fit in a workout. You can also try breaking your workout into smaller amounts of time. It might work better for you to find 20 minutes at the start of your day, then another 20 minutes at the end of the day.
Remind yourself: your health is a priority
It’s really easy to say “I’m too busy” when you don’t really feel like working out, or when your day is jam-packed. But here’s something you need to remember: how will never finding time to workout affect you tomorrow? Or in a year? Your health is important, and making time to care for yourself should definitely be a priority.
