5 Wellness Trends You'll See In 2018
5 Wellness Trends You

Each year, new wellness trends emerge. Some will go on to become staples in our lives (hello quinoa!), while others are something we only try once. These are a few of the wellness trends that we think you’ll be seeing in 2018!

The new leaf powder: Moringa

Turmeric has been the favourite for a few years, but expect to see more natural anti-inflammatory products popping up. The big one to keep an eye out for in 2018 is moringa, a leaf powder supplement that comes from the moringa oleifera tree. Bright green in colour, moringa contains protein, iron, calcium and vitamins A, E and C. Expect to see it being added to smoothies, or made into tea.

The new beauty must-have: natural skin care

We’ve been paying attention to what we put in our bodies, but more than ever we’re focusing on what we’re putting ON our bodies too. Throughout 2018, more brands and product lines will emerge with natural beauty at the forefront. It’s all about finding non-toxic, safe products that use natural ingredients to soothe and protect our skin.

The one you’ve heard of: collagen

While we’ve been talking about using collagen for a while, expect to start noticing it everywhere. Collagen is found naturally in the body, but adding collagen powder to food and drink can help to protect cartilage, tendons and ligaments, and to strengthen hair, skin and nails.

The new clothing trends: activewear

If you’ve always been a plain black leggings type of girl, then this year’s activewear trends might see you expanding your wardrobe! The keyword this year is ‘soft’ — soft fibres and soft colours, such as nudes, grey and blush pink (a shade similar to our active sets!). Black may never go out of style, but you’re likely to see semi-fitted blush tees, grey jogger-style pants and nude lightweight workout clothes on shelves too.

The new grocery list additions: more superfoods

There’s always a new trend in superfoods! This year, it’s all about Job’s tears, a gluten-free grain and jujube, a small fruit known as a red date or a Chinese date. Jujube is said to have anti-inflammatory, antioxidant and cancer-fighting properties, thanks to its phytonutrients, minerals and vitamins.

The face of health and wellness is always evolving and changing, and it’s exciting to watch new trends emerge. You might find a brand new favourite ingredient, or you might feel inspired to overhaul your beauty cabinet. Whatever it is, we hope you find a new way to take care of YOU in 2018.
